Ultrabake™ Hollow Flanged Pull Plugs
Purpose
Ultrabake™ Hollow Flanged Pull Plugs are designed to mask plain and threaded holes; they will mask off the hole and the first thread of a threaded hole.
How the product is used
The hole must be a through hole.
The narrow end of the plug is placed into the hole, and then the operator uses the narrower end to pull the larger end through the hole. As the plug is pulled the larger diameter stretches and becomes smaller, allowing the plug to fit through the hole, the flanged diameter at the end of the plug can then be pulled up to mask the face of the first thread of a thereaded hole. Once the plug is in position and the plug is released, it forms a tight seal on the hole. The plugs are completely hollow so they are more flexible and coating liquid can pass through the center of the plug.
The plug is removed by pulling on the smaller diameter.

Design Features
Two stage - The large and small diameters help with insertion
Flexibility - The material is soft and conforming. This allows the plug to seal the hole

Hollow - The plug is completely hollow allowing liquid to pass through the plug and making it lighter and more conforming
Handle - The plug has a handle to ease and speed up insertion and removal
Tight Seal - The handle helps you to pull the flanged diameter into position to form a tight seal
Visible - The handle can help an operator see the mask on the component and therefore speed up removal of masks
Reusable - The plugs are reusable depending on the application
Color coded - The Plugs are color coded to ease identification and sorting
Identification - The Shercon name is on the plug
Storage conditions
Items should be stored in dry conditions at an ambient temperature of between 55°F (13°C) and 85°F (30°C). It is important to rotate stock and use the product in the order that it is received.

Custom Sizes
Custom sizes are available of this design. Tooling charges would be applicable to custom sizes. Existing production tools cannot be modified to produce a different length or diameter version of a standard plug.
Colors
Custom colors are available; however, they are subject to a minimum order quantity. It may not be possible to match colors exactly.

Ultrabake™ Washer Pull Plugs (UWPP)
will mask the hole and a larger concentric diameter around the hole for a through hole.
Ultrabake™ Pull Plugs (SPP)
will mask a through hole but will not mask the first threads.
Dual Flanged Pull Plugs (DFPP)
will mask a through hole and the first and last threads of a through hole. They are ideally suited to masking weld nuts.
