Green Neoprene Plugs

Purpose

Green Neoprene Plugs are designed to plug plain and threaded holes; they will mask off the hole and allow finishing up to it.

How the product is used

The plug is tapered and is applied by pushing the smaller diameter into the hole. The plug is removed by pulling on the larger diameter.

The hole can be a blind hole or a through hole.

Plating, Anodizing, Spray painting, Blasting

Maximum temperature 350°F (177°C)

Design Features

Tapered - The plug is tapered and can be fitted into a range of different diameters
Flexibility - The material is soft and conforming. This allows the plug to seal the hole
Reusable - The plugs are reusable depending on the application
Identification - The Shercon name is on the plug

Storage conditions

Items should be stored in dry conditions at an ambient temperature of between 55°F (13°C) and 85°F (30°C). It is important to rotate stock and use the product in the order that it is received.

Custom SizesCustom Sizes

Custom sizes are available of this design. Tooling charges would be applicable to custom sizes. Existing production tools cannot be modified to produce a different length or diameter version of a standard plug.

Custom colors are available; however, they are subject to a minimum order quantity. It may not be possible to match colors exactly.

Black Neoprene Plugs (BN) perform a similar function but have carbon in them.

EPDM Pull Plugs (PP) can be used to plug through holes for applications at a similar temperature.

Ultrabake™ Plugs (UP) perform a similar function to Green Neoprene Plugs but are made for higher temperatures.
