Ultrabake™ plugs
Purpose
Ultrabake™ Plugs are designed to plug plain and threaded holes; they will mask off the hole and allow finishing up to it.
How the product is used
The plug is tapered and is applied by pushing the smaller diameter into the hole. The plug is removed by pulling on the larger diameter.
The hole can be a blind hole or a through hole.
Recommended for
Powder coating, E-coating, Plating, Anodizing, Spray painting
Temperature Range
Maximum temperature 600°F (315°C)
Design Features
Tapered - The plug is tapered and can be fitted into a range of different diameters
Flexibility - The material is soft and conforming. This allows the plug to seal the hole
Reusable - The plugs are reusable depending on the application
Color coded - The plugs are color coded to ease identification and sorting
Identification - The Shercon name is on the plug
Storage conditions
Items should be stored in dry conditions at an ambient temperature of between 55°F (13°C) and 85°F (30°C). It is important to rotate stock and use the product in the order that it is received.

Custom Sizes
Custom sizes are available of this design. Tooling charges would be applicable to custom sizes. Existing production tools cannot be modified to produce a different length or diameter version of a standard plug.
Colors
Custom colors are available; however, they are subject to a minimum order quantity. It may not be possible to match colors exactly.

Hollow Ultrabake™ Plugs (HUP) are hollow versions of Ultrabake™ Plugs.
Ultrabake™ Plugs with Handles (UP-H)
can speed up insertion and removal of plugs. They can also make the plug easier to see on the component.
Ultrabake™ Pull Plugs (SPP)
can be used to plug through holes.
