Flangeless Plugs
Purpose
Flangeless Plugs are designed to plug threaded holes; they will mask off the hole and can cover a portion of the top thread of the hole to allow coating up to the threads.
How the product is used
The plug is is applied by pushing the tapered ribbed end of the plug into the threaded hole. It can be “screwed” in, but the profile of the plug is not a thread. The plug can be used on plain bores, but on those, we would recommend the GN or BN series of plugs.
The plug is removed by pulling on the handle.

Maximum temperature 300°F (149°C)
Design Features
Tapered - The plug is tapered for easy entry and removal
Handle - The plugs have a handle to ease and speed up insertion and removal
Visible - The raised handle makes the plug easier to see on the component
Hollow - The larger diameter plugs are hollow making them lighter and more conforming
Reusable - The plugs are reusable depending on the application

Storage conditions
Items should be stored in dry conditions at an ambient temperature of between 55°F (13°C) and 85°F (30°C). It is important to rotate stock and use the product in the order that it is received.

Custom Sizes
Custom sizes are available of this design. Tooling charges would be applicable to custom sizes. Existing production tools cannot be modified to produce a different length or diameter version of a standard plug.
Colors
Custom colors are available; however, they are subject to a minimum order quantity. It may not be possible to match colors exactly.

Ultrabake™ Plugs with Handles (UP-H)
are designed for higher temperatures, but can be used in the same manner but may not protect the top thread of a threaded hole as well as a flangeless plug.
Ultrabake™ Thread Mask (UTM) or an
Ultrabake™ Hollow Washer Plug (HWP) are designed for higher temperatures, but will mask the hole and the first thread of a threaded hole.
Ultrabake™ Washer Plugs (UW) or an
Ultrabake™ Washer Cap (WC) are designed for higher temperatures, but will mask the hole and a large concentric diameter around the hole.
